Hutt City Tree Planting | Sustainable Coastlines

Event impacts

Event Details

On Sunday 22 June, we got together with hardy locals, the friendly folk from Hutt City Council and community group Kete Kai to plant native trees alongside the Korokoro stream in Honiana Te Puni Reserve (Korokoro Gateway).

Nineteen volunteers planted 350 native seedlings and celebrated with a BBQ and delicious soup provided by local community gardening co-op, Kete Kai – the smell of the food was enough to lure a few spontaneous participants to help muck in!
