The goals here are to protect water quality, enhance social capital through community events, and create habitat for indigenous biodiversity.  This is a significant ongoing riparian restoration project next to the Waimakariri River.

The Waimakariri River is the source of over 75% of the drinking water for Christchurch so get involved to give this iconic waterway some much-needed love!

How to get there: Head north through Belfast and turn left onto Dickey’s rd- then turn right onto Coutt’s island rd and drive to the stop bank, turn left, go over the stop bank and into the park. We’ll meet from 9:30; Look out for the Sustainable Coastlines flags and friendly helpers in high-vis gear.

We’ll be starting from 10.00 am and finishing up around 2.30 pm. You can stay for as little or as long as you like, but around noon we’ll all come together for some tasty food and some Phoenix Organics Drinks.

Places are limited for this event so please register on the form below to confirm your attendance. Even if you can only spare a few hours we would love to see you there.
