Are you interested in taking action against ocean pollution at your local beach? Be a citizen scientist for a day and contribute to long-term solutions while cleaning up the coastline!

Join us on Saturday 9 November, 9am-12pm at Raumati Beach for a Litter Intelligence beach litter survey & beach clean-up.  Litter Intelligence is Aotearoa’s national litter monitoring programme, enabling communities to collect data, gain insights and influence action for a world without litter.  Litter Intelligence is Aotearoa’s national litter monitoring programme, enabling communities to collect data, gain insights and influence action for a world without litter. Look for our flag on the beach near the parking lot, just off Garden Road.

On the day, we’ll guide our group through removing all the litter in a designated area of the beach, categorising it, measuring it, and recording it in the database. Because we survey the same area of the beach each time, you’re helping us build up a picture of the litter problem over time.

All are welcome to this whānau-friendly, free event. Equipment will be provided, including gloves, sacks, and a health and safety briefing. With thanks to Kāpiti Coast District Council.
