In partnership with Meridian Energy and Fiordland College, we are launching a new carbon farming initiative to restore the beautiful area around Lake Manapōuri in Fiordland.
This landscape is home to an incredible feat of engineering – the Manapōuri Hydroelectric Station and now we are giving the area some love by planting native trees next to the Waiau River.
This project aims to restore up to 1,000 hectares of land with trees that will sequester carbon, improve water quality and re-establish natural habitat for native species.
Meet at 164-88 Duncraigen Road, Manapōuri. Look for the blue, outdoor Sustainable Coastlines flags.
