Remember to bring:

  • Closed-toed shoes
  • Sun-smart gear
  • Raincoats and appropriate clothing for the day on the coast
  • Reusable drink bottle, filled and ready to go
  • Camera!
  • Old mobile phone for recycling!

We will provide: 

  • All relevant gear: gloves, sacks
  • Health and Safety documentation & briefing
  • First aid trained staff and first aid kits
  • Sunscreen
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Rubbish removal to transfer station.

Come along and celebrate World Water Day by joining us at Petone Beach on Saturday 23rd March. Take action for the moana by removing litter and learning more about Litter Intelligence – the national beach litter database and solutions platform!

All welcome to this whānau-friendly free event. We’ll start from 10am, heading onto the beach for the clean-up, then end with Phoenix Organics drinks and snacks.

Please bring along any old mobile phones you have for recycling!

All equipment will be provided including gloves, sacks, health and safety documents.

Timing

  • 10:00am – Event sign-in begins at the Honiana Reserve Car Park
  • 10:10am – General welcome and H&S briefing
  • 10:20am – Litter Intelligence briefing for those keen to help us with some rubbish science!
  • 10:30am – Clean-up instructions and equipment hand-out
  • 10:40am – Clean-up begins
  • 11:40am – Litter audit back at registration area
  • 12:45pm – Clean up finishes
  • 1:00pm – Celebration back at registration area with Phoenix drinks!
