Let’s Get Cleaned Up | Sustainable Coastlines

Event Details

Sep 2013

A huge and heartfelt thanks to all that came. We had a damn fine time and hope you all did too. Together we managed to raise over $27,000 in critical funding to allow us to continue our work on educational programmes, coastal clean-ups and waterway planting projects. To our generous sponsors, all those who kindly donated auction items (and all those who won them), thank you. To our brilliant entertainers Nairobi Trio, Latinaotearoa, Sal Valentine & the Babyshakes, DJ R.I.A., MC Clarke Gayford, DJ Sambora, Benn Morrison, and Sunshine Sound System, kia ora. To photographer Barnaby Sweet and auctioneer Sabine Davison, cheers. Thank you to the dedicated Hilton staff for once again providing the fantastic venue. Finally, to our volunteer event planning gurus Murry, Jodi and the von Sweetpants whanau, we love you guys. Without you all, this evening would not have been possible.

The stage is set for our fundraising ball: ‘Let’s Get Cleaned Up’ on Saturday 21 September, 2013. Tickets are sold out! Back by popular demand at Auckland CBD’s Hilton Hotel – the Sustainable Coastlines charity ball is the perfect chance to get cleaned up, dust off the dancing shoes and have a rollicking good night while helping us raise critical funds to continue our work.

Starting at 7pm at this fantastic harbourside location, we will have world-class entertainment, delicious drinks and a mouth-watering three-course dining experience; a stellar combination for a night that you will not forget. The evening features performances from:

  • Local rhythm and blues legends Sal Valentine & the Babyshakes
  • Aotearoa’s top jazz ensemble Nairobi Trio
  • Funk soul gurus Latinaotearoa
  • Longtime SC supporter DJ R.I.A.

Tickets include a three-course meal, all your drinks, world-class entertainment throughout the night and free coach transfer and ticket to the official after party at Montecristo Room, 53 Nelson St, with DJ Sambora from Shapeshifter and Benn Morrison on the decks. We’ve even secured the photographic prowess of Barnaby Sweet to capture the evening and the Amazing Travelling Photobooth for old school snaps all night long.

All ticket sales along with live and silent auction packages (check out the catalogue here) up for grabs during the evening will raise funds for our ongoing work motivating and educating communities to look after our coastlines.

This will be the night out to celebrate the winter’s end and ring-in spring. Strictly R18, sorry kids.

The evening features performances from DJ Sambora (of Shapeshifter fame), Benn Morrison and Sunshine Sound System feat Downtown Brown and Stauny Pops.
