What a beautiful day we had in Taranaki, the mountain stayed hidden but the weather held out for us all day and together with 15 amazing volunteers we managed to get over 950 trees in the ground. These trees were planted as part the ANZ Love Your Water Tour 2020.
We had a great mix of native plants such as harakeke (flax), Karamu, Ti Kouka, Totara, Puahou, Karamu, Ake Ake, Tarata and Kōhūhū across four sites on the farm land. Planting tress on farms around the waterways creates a barrier and filters any excess nutrients from animal run off before it gets into our fresh water and creates a beautiful habitat for our birdlife.
Thank you to everyone who came along and special thanks to ANZ and Eton Park Farm for making this possible. We look forward to seeing you at the next planting!
