Come and join our Sustainable Coastlines crew as we team up with the Auckland Zoo and Phoenix Organics in honor of nationwide Conservation Week. From Friday 30 October to Sunday 8 November our popular ‘Education Station’ shipping container classroom will be stationed at the entrance to Auckland Zoo, and we’d love to see you there.

Thanks to our friends at Phoenix Organics we will be running free educational workshops to teach you how to give your plastic bottle a new life, showing you how to build your own upcycled herb planter! Workshops will run continuously between 9am-12pm and again from 1pm-4pm on Friday 30, Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, and again on Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November.

Most of what we pick up from beaches is made of plastic and has only been used once, like food wrappers, plastic bags and drink bottles. Unlike natural, organic things, plastic never goes away. Once in our oceans, rubbish can harm and kill sea creatures. Each year 100,000 marine mammals and 1 million seabirds are killed by rubbish at sea.

This is a family friendly workshop with all materials provided. Just turn up and learn more about looking after the coastlines we all love, but transforming your plastic bottle into the beginning of your own herb garden.

See you there!
