About the Litter Intelligence Programme
Litter Intelligence is Aotearoa’s national litter monitoring programme, enabling communities to collect data, gain insights and influence action for a world without litter.
On the day, we’ll guide our group of citizen scientists through a Litter Intelligence survey and audit. This involves removing all the litter in a designated area of the beach, categorising it, measuring it, and recording it in the database. Because we survey the same area of the beach each time, you’re helping us build up a picture of the litter problem over time.
