As part of our partnership with Porirua City Council and Ngāti Toa Rangatira on the Streamside Planting Programme, we invite you to join us on Saturday 23rd July for a community planting day/working bee in Waitangirua, within Belmont Regional Park.
We have just put in 4,500 plants into the park, and have a few hundred more to put in, as well as putting guards on as many fo the trees as possible.
How to get there: head to 44 Waihora Cres, and find a park either next to the sports field or on the road. – We’ll meet from 9.30 am and head down into the gully to begin planting – look out for the Sustainable Coastlines and Porirua City flags and friendly helpers in high-vis gear.
What does the day involve?
9:30 am – Registration opens at Belmont Stockyards, Waitangirua, Tea and coffee served.
9:40 am – Intro, safety briefing and planting demonstration. Planting and guarding begins!
12:00 pm – Return to home base for refreshments and group photo.
