Matariki signals the Māori New Year. It is a time of renewal and celebration that begins with the rising of the Matariki star cluster (the Pleiades or Seven Sisters).
To celebrate The Flagship Education Center is hosting Touch Compass, New Zealand’s leading inclusive professional performing arts organisation combining artists with and without a disability. They will be building a giant whale that you can come and watch being created before it is displayed at the InMotion Matariki parade on Saturday 6th July 2019 from 5:30pm.
While you are down at the Flagship we encourage you to have a conversation about Matariki, whales and sustainability – that is what InMotion Matariki is all about.
