Celebrate Seaweek 2024 with BLAKE, Sustainable Coastlines and the Christchurch City Council – this event is not to be missed!
We will all meet at the Sumner Surf Life Saving Club at 9:45 am. Our first activity will take us to the coastline; after that, we will return to the surf club for the remainder of the day -finishing at 12:30 pm. This is an indoor & outdoor event.
Following on from your rocky shore exploration with Christchurch City Council, you will be taking action to protect the marine environment from pollution with Sustainable Coastlines. Help to count, categorise, and weigh litter collected from a section of coastline as part of the Litter Intelligence program. This data will then help to inform solutions to pollution! Sustainable Coastlines will also be running a turtle obstacle course celebrating navigating the challenges and wonder of the ocean!
Top the afternoon off by experiencing the wonder of Aotearoa’s ocean environment through virtual reality with BLAKE.
Let’s experience the unique species living along the ever-changing coastline together this Seaweek!
