We’re looking for caring corporates to get behind the project. We need to raise funds to cover essential logistical, health & safety and administrative costs to ensure this project’s success in each region. Sponsorship is, therefore, vital. Check out the opportunities below to see how we can work together.
What a great day it turned out to be! With a very cold wind and rain to meet us in the morning, the Meridian crew headed out to the wind farm with 20 students from Raglan Area School and 11 students from Te Mata School.
On their return the BBQ was cooking and the sun had come out. After a delicious lunch of sausages, Raglan Social Club scones and Phoenix Drinks, we grabbed our spades and gum boots.
After a health and safety brief, and planting tutorial from one of the senior students, we got planting around the Peninsula.
In total we planted around 250 native plants and trees with help from 30 students and staff from Raglan Area School, 12 students from Te Mata School and of course the friendly staff from Meridian Energy who helped the students with their planting.
As part of the ongoing nature of this project, the Raglan Area School students ‘Tangata Tiaki’ committee is helping with the decision making around the peninsula, and we’re stoked to be able to see the development each year.
Special thanks to Ange Prain and Malcolm Cox of Raglan Area School, Carly Anderson and the team at Meridian, Pam and Te Mata School for joining us on the day, and Raglan Social Club and Phoenix Drinks for supplying fantastic refreshments.
