Work with us: Engagement Facilitator, Wellington | Sustainable Coastlines

Engagement Facilitator

Wellington • Full time

About us:

Love our coastlines?  Want to play a key role in restoring and protecting them? Are you community focused with an epic ability to bring people together to work towards our kaupapa of reducing ocean litter together? If you’ve had experience in event management or working with community, corporates, and school groups, you could be just the person we’re looking for.

Established in April 2009, Sustainable Coastlines is a multi-award-winning environmental charity that exists to connect people to nature and inspire change. Our mission is to bring people together to reduce plastic pollution and other litter to protect the moana we all love.

About the role:

As an engagement facilitator, you will be continuing to develop our strong relationships with community members, managing the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of events, and seeking funding and grant support. This includes but is not limited to education and events for schools, community groups, corporate and sponsor partners, monitoring and evaluation, training and support, beach clean-ups and litter intelligence surveys.

As the sole representative in Wellington, there will be an expectation to be self-motivated, comfortable working alone most of the time, confident collaborating with local stakeholders, and working with Sustainable Coastlines team members online sharing delivery plans, objectives and successes.

This is a work-from-home based role with regular travel around the Wellington region and some travel to other parts of Aotearoa when needed. The position will require you to attend weekend events a number of times during the year.
